After raking in over Rs 1,000 crore in cinema chains worldwide, Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham starrer Pathaan will be available to watch on Amazon Prime Video from March 22. The film is directed by Siddharth Anand with a screenplay by Shridhar Raghavan and dialogues by Abbas Tyrewala.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the OTT platform also stated that the film will be available in three languages: Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

As per reports, the OTT version will also feature some scenes that were deleted from the theatrical version. This might include a scene of the titular character’s origin.

In an interview with Galatta Plus, director Siddharth had hinted that some scenes that were edited out might find a way in the OTT version. There is a scene where ISI agent Rubai (Deepika) asks Pathaan (Shah Rukh Khan) what is his religion. He explains that he was given the name Pathaan after he helped rescue children in an Afghan village. “It's the synergy between Abbas [Tyrewala], Sridhar [Ragahavan], Adi [Chopra] and me, it's the four of us, not the three of us. The four of us have the same belief system, and the same films we’ve grown up on, and believed in. We share that. So, the fact that he doesn’t have a name, and he’s found in a theatre that was actually called Navrang… This got edited out, but you might see this in the OTT version… None of us looks down upon it, none of us says this is cheesy,” the director said.

As per Bollywood HungamaPathaan has made Rs 651.66 crore (gross) in the Indian market while its overseas collections stand at Rs 394.94 crore. Pathaan total gross collection is Rs 1046.6 crore.
