Suriya: Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway is an important film that speaks about a true event

Rani Mukerji-starrer Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway is all set to hit the theatres on March 17. Ahead of the release, Tamil actor Suriya, who watched the film, took to his social media handle to share some good words about it.

He wrote, "An important film that speaks about a true event Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway. Jo & I came out with a heavy heart. Still lost in those thoughts. Kudos to the wonderful Rani Mukerji & the cast. Our best wishes to Chibber Ashima, Nikkhil Advani and the team." (sic)

The film is based on the real-life story of an Indian-origin couple living in Norway whose children are taken by the Norwegian welfare services in 2011. The film also stars Anirban Bhattacharya, Jim Sarbh and Neena Gupta.

Rani plays Debika Chatterjee. She lives with her husband and two young kids, Shubh and Suchi. The family, originally from Kolkata, are living in Norway. It is all happy and content until the Norwegian authorities take away their children, contending that the family is unfit to take care of them. The film unfolds with a series of events that follows Debika fighting to get back their children. The film is produced by Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and Nikkhil Advani under the Zee Studios and Emmay Entertainment banner.
