Salman Khan took to Twitter on Thursday to mourn the death of actor-director Satish Kaushik. The comic-star died in Gurugram on Thursday after suffering a heart attack. Kaushik had directed Salman in Tere Naam (2003).

“Always loved, cared and respected him and shall always remember him for the man that he was. May his soul rest in peace and strength to family and loved ones. .. #RIP Satish Ji. (sic),” the actor wrote on Twitter.

A popular comedy actor in the 90s and early 2000s, Kaushik was also known for directing films like Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hain, which marked the debut of Tusshar Kapoor, Hum Apke Dil Mein Rehte Hain and Badhai Ho Badhai among others. Kaushik will be seen posthumously, as former defence minister Jagjivan Ram in Kanagana Ranaut’s upcoming directorial Emergency.

Kaushik had also produced Salman’s 2005 film Kyon Kistarring Kareena Kapoor and Jackie Shroff. His last directorial Kagaz, starring Pankaj Tripathi, was produced by Salman
