The trailer for the second season of Sony LIV’s historical drama Rocket Boys was released recently. Rocket Boys season 2 will see Jim Sarbh and Ishwak Singh reprise their roles as mavericks of India’s nuclear and space programmes, Homi J Bhabha and Vikram Sarabhai. Arjun Radhakrishnan will also return as Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam in the series.
The trailer opens up with a radio announcement. India’s first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru has passed away. The country’s reigns are now in the hands of his daughter Indira Gandhi (Charu Shanker). Bhabha is on his way to making the nuclear bomb and Sarabhai is making advancements in the space programme. But there are threatening forces cornering them. America is spying on Bhabha while the budget for Sarabhai’s space programme is being cut. It seems like a race against time as the Rocket Boys try to achieve what they set out for.
Rocket Boys also stars Regina Cassandra, Rajit Kapur, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Namit Das and Saba Azad in pivotal roles.
Created by Nikkhil Advani, Roy Kapur Films & Emmay Entertainment, the show has been produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur, Monisha Advani, and Madhu Bhojwani, and written and directed by Abhay Pannu. The second season will be released on Sony LIV on March 16.
