Zwigato trailer: Kapil Sharma embodies the plight of delivery personnel

The second trailer of Nandita Das’s Zwigato was released today. Starring Kapil Sharma and Shahana Goswami, the film is about a food delivery executive and how he and his family try to make ends meet.

The trailer shows Kapil going door to door to make deliveries. He is seen climbing stairs as a signboard next to a lift at a posh highrise reads “Delivery personnel not allowed.” There are also light moments of him clicking a selfie with customers as that ensures a better rating. His wife, played by Shahana Goswami, on the other hand, is working as a masseuse and harbouring dreams as she sees a skating ballerina on the TV. The trailer also touches upon the plight of delivery personnel: low wages and a dearth of five-star ratings.

Zwigato premiered at the 47^th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September 2022. It was followed by an Asian premiere at the 27th Busan International Film Festival. The movie was also screened at the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK).

The film will be released to the Indian audiences on March 17. Zwigato is directed by Nandita Das, who has previously helmed Firaaq (2008) and Manto (2018).
