Ranbir, Alia and Yash to collaborate for a Ramayana adaptation?

Filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari is in the buzz to helm the project

Speculations are rife that director Nitesh Tiwari, who is best known for helming Dangal and Chicchore, is eyeing a film based on the Hindu mythology Ramayana. The buzzing echoes that Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt will portray Ram and Sita, respectively, while the KGF breakout star Yash to essay the character of Ravana. 

According to reports, the film will be produced by Allu Aravind, Madhu Manthena and Namit Malhotra and is expected to go on the floor either on December 2023 or January 2024. Official confirmations still need to be revealed. 

Ramayana has already boasted many film adaptations, including Om Raut's upcoming film Adipurush starring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon as Ram and Sita. The film will hit the theatres on June 16. 

Meanwhile, Nitesh Tiwari is currently working on the upcoming film Bawaal starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor. The film is slated to hit the theatres in October. 

Alia Bhatt will next be seen in the upcoming film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani, directed by Karan Johar. The film hit the theatres on July 28. at the same time, Ranbir Kapoor will next be seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal, which is slated to be released on August 11. On the other hand, Yash is reportedly set to work with filmmaker Geetu Mohandas on an untitled gangster drama.
