Manoj Bajpayee’s Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai released in select theatres after OTT premiere

Usually, films that open in theatres finally find their way to OTT, but in a first, Manoj Bajpayee headliner Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai has charted a different route. The film, which dropped on ZEE5 on May 23, is now released in select theatres in the country on Friday. However, it is not being screened by national theatre chains.

The makers of the film took to their social media on Friday to make the announcement. Bajpayee posted on Instagram the names of theatres and the timings of shows for the film. Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai is being released in theatres under three circuits: Mumbai and Gujarat circuit (6 cinema halls), Delhi and Uttar Pradesh circuit (9) and Rajasthan and Bihar circuit (5). “Thank you for your unwavering love and support so far on the #SirfEkBandaaKaafiHai journey. #Bandaa aa gaya hai aaj aap se milne select cinemas mein, don't miss out!” the actor captioned the post.

Directed by Apoorv Singh Karki and written by Deepak Kingrani, Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai, is inspired by the life of lawyer PC Solanki and how he fought for justice for a minor girl who was molested by a self-styled godman.

The film received rave reviews from critics, and Bajpayee’s acting has been particularly lauded.
