Alia Bhatt to headline a Yash Raj spy universe film? 

Alia Bhatt is set to lead a film for Yash Raj Films’ spy universe, as per reports.

As per Variety and Pinkvilla, Alia will play a “super-agent” in the film, which will commence production in 2024.

Aditya Chopra’s spy universe consists of seven films currently. Beginning with Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, Tiger 3, War 2, and Tiger vs Pathaan. The untitled Alia film will be the eighth in the series. While the Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif-led Tiger 3 are slated to release this Diwali, War 2 with Hrithik Roshan, NTR Jr., and Kiara Advani go on floors in November. The face-off between Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan in Tiger vs Pathaan is all ready to go on floors next year.

“Alia is one of the biggest superstars of our country today, and she will play a super agent in the YRF spy universe like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan…Alia will take on a mission that will push her to the edge, and this gritty action film will expand the YRF spy universe further,” state the reports.

“She will be presented in a whole new, never-seen-before manner in this yet untitled film. Her inclusion in the YRF spy universe indicates that Aditya Chopra is leaving no audience segment out of the equation for this franchise…Aditya Chopra is very bullish about Alia as an actress who can helm and start a franchise within the spy universe on her own, and he will pull all stops to mount this project at a scale that will be jaw-dropping,” added the reports.

Alia is no stranger to the spy genre. For her debut Hollywood project, she will be seen in the spy-actioner Heart of Stone alongside Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan. She reportedly plays a villainous hacker in the film. On the home front, upcoming is the Karan Johar extravaganza Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, in which she stars alongside Ranveer Singh.
