The first song from Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming romantic drama Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat dropped on Monday. Titled Mohabbat Se Kranti, the song features Vicky Kaushal as DJ Mohabbat.

Mohabbat Se Kranti has been crooned by Raghav Chaitanya and Neha Tawde. It has been composed by regular Anurag collaborators Amit Trivedi, and Shellee. The film stars Alaya F and marks the debut of Karan Mehta.

In the music video, Vicky can be seen mouthing the song in a club as Alaya grooves to it. The song is a soulful dance number with poetic lyrics. The music video also features certain scenes from the scene which show Alaya and Karan’s characters running away from home.

Talking about Vicky’s role, Anurag said, “The character of DJ Mohabbat is so integral to the story that I wanted someone special to play it. DJ Mohabbat is the voice of love... and I wanted someone who is that.”

As per the film’s synopsis on Marrakech Film Festival’s website, Almost Pyaar is about “a girl in London who likes a boy a little too much. And, in a parallel universe, there’s a boy who likes a girl. These two unrequited love stories, burdened by social status, caste, religion and inequality, are breathlessly headed towards each other… two tragic love stories, one musical and an uncanny coincidence as told by the Guru of Love: DJ Mohabbat.”

The film hits theatres on February 3. Listen to the song here:
