The Night Manager trailer: Anil Kapoor is a cunning arms dealer while Aditya Roy Kapur plays the reluctant agent in this spy-thriller

It’s ammo vs camo. The trailer of the Disney+ Hotstar series The Night Manager is out. The show is the official adaptation of a British series of the same name and stars Anil Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur in lead roles. The original series featured Hugh Laurie and Tom Hiddleston. The Indian counterpart also stars Sobhita Dhulipala, Tillotama Shome and Saswata Chatterjee.

Following the footsteps of the original, The Night Manager tells the story of a notorious arms dealer Shailendra Rungta (Anil Kapoor, again dealing in arms after Race 3.) The Indian Intelligence is on his tracks and to infiltrate his network they employ Shaan (Aditya). Shaan is the night manager of a hotel and his handler is a character played by Tillotama Shome. When Shailendra, along with his wife (Sobhita) and family, are celebrating at the same hotel (they even raise a toast ‘To the king of the world’) some goons attack them and Shaan saves Shailendra’s child. Shailendra then takes Shaan under his wing. “You are my lead actor, my star,” Anil’s Shailendra tells Aditya’s Shaan. Things get murkier when Shaan gets into an affair with Sobhita’s character. Will his cover be blown?

In the trailer, Sobhita is seen reading a book: The Night Manager by John Le Carre. Both, the British and the Indian series are based on this 1993 novel by the famous spy fiction writer.

Directed by National award-winning director Sandeep Modi, The Night Manager starts streaming on Disney+ Hotstar on February 17.
