Russo Brothers welcome Samantha Ruth Prabhu on board Indian chapter of Citadel
The series' production is underway in Mumbai
Following the announcement that Samantha Ruth Prabhu is officially on board the Indian instalment of Citadel, creators Russo Brothers extended a warm welcome to her.
Sharing the actor's first look on their Instagram handle, the Russo Brothers wrote that they have officially started the production for the Indian instalment of Citadel. "Welcome to the team Samantha Ruth Prabhu." (sic)
The Indian version of the series also stars Varun Dhawan. The untitled Citadel series is based out of India and is directed by creator duo Raj & DK (Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK), who are also the showrunners. It is written by Sita R Menon.
While the production is currently underway in Mumbai, the team will move to the northern belt of India before proceeding to foreign locales like Serbia and South Africa. “When Prime Video and Raj & DK approached me with this project, I decided to take it up in a heartbeat! After working with this team on The Family Man, it is homecoming for me. The Citadel universe, the interconnected storylines between the productions across the globe, and most importantly, the script of the Indian installment really excited me," Samantha said.
