Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri took to Twitter on Tuesday to announce his slate of upcoming projects. The Kashmir Files director penned a long note in response to a now reconciled contempt plea, filed against him suo motu by the Delhi High Court, over an article shared by him. Vivek revealed a list of his upcoming projects as the second part of the note.
“From Urban Naxals to The Kashmir Files, my team and I have fought a unique battle. The next few years of my life are dedicated to the following unprecedented projects,” he wrote.
The projects include Kashmir Unreported – a docuseries on Kashmir, The Vaccine War – a feature film on the making of the indigenous COVID vaccine, The Delhi Files – a film on the “hidden truth of India’s bloody partition”, a feature film The Fall of Nizam and a three-part feature film series on India’s greatest epic.
Vivek also wrote that he has plans to establish an “Indic research unit.” “Am determined to enhance space for more creative and spiritual energy into my life so that I can do what has never been done before. As a proud Indian, I want India to become an inspiration for the world,” he said in the note.
Vivek’s The Kashmir Files was in the centre of controversy last year after Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid called it a “vulgar, propaganda” film at the International Film Festival of India that was held in Goa. In the past, the director has also falsely claimed that the film was selected as India’s official entry for the Academy Awards.
