‘Content should be checked. The cleaner it will be, there will be more viewership for it,’ he said

Salman Khan, at a recent press conference in Mumbai, said that there is a need to censor OTT content.

Speaking at the Filmfare Awards 2023 press conference, the No Entry actor said that the “nudity, vulgarity and abusive words” used in OTT films and shows should stop. “What if a 14 or a 15-year-old boy sees this content? What if your daughter sees this in the pretext of studying? Would you like it?” he said.

“Content should be checked. The cleaner it will be, there will be more viewership for it,” he added.

Stating that since there is a censor on theatrical films and TV shows, Salman asked why OTT should be left out. “If there is a lot of blood or too much action in a film, it gets an A Certificate, then why not a censor for OTT? There is a censor on TV too. I host Bigg Boss, I know there are some things, like fights and stuff, which happen inside the Bigg Boss house which can’t be shown on TV.”

Salman was last seen in a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan. He is gearing up for his next with Pooja Hegde and Venkatesh, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which will be released on April 21.
