Thank those who were rooting for The Kashmir Files: Vivek Agnihotri on Chello Show’s Oscar pick

Director Vivek Agnihotri took to Twitter on Tuesday to congratulate the team of Chhello Show (The Last Film Show), the Gujarati film which is India’s official entry to The Oscars.

“A big congratulations to the entire team of #LastFilmShow (Chhello Show) for being selected as India’s official entry. Wishing them the best film award at the #Oscars2023. I thank all the well wishers and specially media which was rooting for #TheKashmirFiles,” he tweeted.

Lately, Twitter has been divided over which film should be the country’s representative at the Oscar’s. While some were rooting for The Kashmir Files, others were backing SS Rajamouli’s epic RRR.

Recently there was also a strife between director Anurag Kashyap and Vivek Agnihotri after the former said in an interview that RRR would be a better choice for The Oscars than The Kashmir Files.

Chhello Show is directed by Pan Nalin and is India's official entry to the Best International Feature Film category at the 95th Academy Awards. The film will hit the Indian screens on October 14.

Chhello Show stars Bhavin Rabari, Bhavesh Shrimali, Richa Meena, Dipen Raval and Paresh Mehta.
