Hansal Mehta has responded to a Twitter user accusing him of giving a 'flop film' to Kangana Ranaut. Hansal had directed Kangana in the 2017 film Simran, a box-office failure.
Recently, Hansal had tweeted in praise of Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra, saying he was unable to get tickets on Saturday night and had to catch a morning show on Sunday. 'The 2nd part is going to be huge," he had written.
A user, apparently upset with Hansal's praise, replied, "Shame on you. you gave flop film to Kangana."
Hansal responded cheekily to the fan by saying, "Yeah. I shouldn’t have made Dhaakad."
Dhaakad, Kangana's last release, was a female-led spy thriller mounted on a huge scale. However, the film tanked heavily at the box-office.
Hansal in the past had distanced himself from Simran, calling his decision to work with Kangana a 'massive mistake.'
The filmmaker's upcoming offering is Faraaz followed by Scoop and Scam 2003.
