Nushrratt Bharuccha to headline Akelli

Nushrratt Bharuccha will star in debutant filmmaker Pranay Meshram's upcoming thriller, Akelli.

Pranay has worked as an assistant director on films like Queen and Commando 3.

Set in Iraq, Akelli is about how a person realises her own capabilities in adverse situations when trapped in a desert. 

The project is backed by Nitin Vaidya, the producer and founder of Dashami Studioz. In a statement, "Her (Bharuccha) character in this film symbolises a lone woman's battle against all odds. The film's subject is very different and as a storyteller Pranay has visualized each and every bit so well that his conviction made us want to back this movie."

Nushratt recently starred in Janhit Mein Jaari, and will be next seen in Ram Setu and Selfiee.
