Anupam Kher has become the latest celebrity to comment on Richa Chadha’s controversial tweet. Earlier today, actor Kay Kay Menon also reacted to the Fukrey actor’s post.

In the now-deleted tweet, Richa, reacting to Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi's statement that the Army is “always ready” for any order to take back parts of Kashmir illegally occupied by Pakistan and "would give them a befitting reply", had written "Galwan says hi".

The comment was a reference to the 2020 military clash between India and China in the Galwan Valley border. Richa deleted the tweet amid political and social media backlash. A complaint has also reportedly been filed against the actor with the Delhi Police.

Posting a screenshot of the tweet, the Kashmir Files actor labelled it as “shameless” and wrote in Hindi, “Desh ki burai karke kuch logo ke beech lokpriya hone ki koshish karna kayar aur chote logo ka kaam hain. Aur sena ke samman ko daav par lagana… isse zyada sharmnaak aur kya ho sakta hain ( To try to become popular by foul-mouthing the nation amidst a select group of people is the work of cowards. And putting the Army’s reputation at stake… what can be more shameful than that)

Least we can do is to behold love, respect & gratitude, in our hearts, towards such valour! #JaiHind! Vande Mataram."

Before this, sharing a screenshot of the deleted tweet, Akshay Kumar had also tweeted, "Hurts to see this. Nothing ever should make us ungrateful towards our armed forces. Woh hain toh aaj hum hain."

Richa had also issued a public apology after deleting the tweet where she wrote, “A whole family is affected when their son is martyred or even injured while saving the nation which is made up of people like us and I personally know how it feels. It is an emotive issue for me.”

Later, the actor also tried to put across her point by sharing a statement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi where he talked about peaceful conversations between India and Pakistan.
