Kartik Aaryan to star in Hera Pheri 3, confirms Paresh Rawal

Kartik has reportedly replaced Akshay Kumar as the fan-favourite character Raju in the upcoming sequel

Actor Paresh Rawal has confirmed that Kartik Aaryan will be joining the cast of Hera Pheri 3

On Friday, reports emerged that Kartik has replaced Akshay Kumar in the upcoming Hera Pheri sequel. When a Twitter user asked Paresh Rawal about the same, writing, "@SirPareshRawal sir is it true that Kartik Aryan is doing Hera Pheri 3?",  the veteran actor replied with 'Yes it’s true."

According to a recent report, Akshay has pulled out of Hera Pheri 3 as well as sequels for Welcome and Awara Pagal Deewana over script issues. He has been replaced by Kartik Aaryan to play the character of Raju in Hera Pheri 3, Pinkvilla has reported.

However, no official announcement regarding the film has been made.

Hera Pheri follows the shifting fortunes of Baburao (Paresh), Raju (Akshay) and Shyam (Suniel Shetty). The first film, directed by Priyadarshan and remade from the 1989 Malayalam-language Ramji Rao Speaking, was released in 2000. A much-memed sequel, Phir Hera Pheri, directed by Neeraj Vora, came in 2006. Neeraj had commenced work on Hera Pheri 3, but the project was stalled after he fell ill in 2014 (the writer-director passed away in 2017).

Kartik had earlier replaced Akshay in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. The film, directed by Anees Bazmee, is the third highest-grossing Hindi film of 2022.

Would you watch Hera Pheri 3 without Akshay Kumar as Raju?
