68th National Film Awards 2022: Ajay Devgn wins Best Actor; Toolsidas Junior wins two

The 68th National Film awards were announced on Friday. Ajay Devgn won the Best Actor award for Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. He shared the award with Tamil actor Suriya who got it for Soorarai Pottru.

The Best Hindi Film award was bagged by Toolsidas Junior, directed by Mridul Mahendra Toolsidas, and starring Rajiv Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt. Tanhaji was also named as the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.

Child actor Varun Bhuddhadev also received a Special Mention from the jury for the film.

Vishal Bhardwaj also bagged an award for Best Music Direction for the song ‘Marenge Toh Wahin Jaakar’ in the documentary 1232 kms, on migrant workers crisis during the pandemic. Manoj  Muntashir has won the award for Best Lyricist for Saina.
