Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat teaser: Anurag Kashyap’s tale of love and rebellion

The teaser of Anurag Kashyap’s next outing Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat dropped today. The film stars Alaya F and marks the debut of Karan Mehta.

The teaser shows Alaya as a schoolgirl smitten by Karan’s character. Glimpses of snow-capped mountains and the two enjoying a maggi are also seen. A voice-over discusses Gulzar’s take on love: “It is an emotion, let it be like that.”

Sharing the teaser on Instagram, Anurag wrote, “Mohabbat Se Hi Kranti Aayegi!”

The film had its world premiere at the International Marrakech Film Festival.

Talking about the film then, the director had said, “The film is a labour of love, and it's been fun putting it together with amazing collaborations from Amit Trivedi and our lyricist Shellee and the colourful palette of my DoP Sylvester Fonseca and our production designer Shazia and the whole team, especially the energy of its young leads."

A love story centered on Gen Z, Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat took shape over the years with Anurag's conversations with his daughter, Aaliya.

"To realise that we are migrants to the world today that they (the Gen Z) are a native to. This feels like a new inning and I am happy that it's starting with this film," Anurag had said.

In the past, Anurag has directed love stories like Dev D (2009) and Manmarziyaan (2018). Both of those films featured music by Amit Trivedi.
