Kunal Kemmu announces debut directorial, Madgaon Express

Actor Kunal Kemmu has announced his directorial project, Madgaon Express. The film will be produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment. The title refers to the city of Madgaon in Goa. 

Sharing the announcement, Kunal wrote - “Ganpati Bappa Moriya. As all good things begin with his name I can’t think of a better day to share this with all of you. It started with a thought in my head which grew into a dream which flowed out through my fingers into words on my laptop and now it is becoming a reality on its way to the silver screen. A big thank you to Ritesh, Farhan and Rucha at excel entertainment for believing in my script and my vision and partnering with me on this exciting journey in the world of cinema. With joined hands and a bowed head, I seek all of your blessings and the blessings of Ganpati Bappa. Introducing “Madgaon Express”

Kunal started his career as a child actor in films like Sir, Raja Hindustani and Zakhm. In 2005, he made his debut as the lead in Mohit Suri's Kalyug. His other notable films include Traffic Signal, Superstar, Go Goa Gone, 99, Golmaal 3 and Kalank. Kunal also leads the thriller series Abhay (2019—). He is married to actor Soha Ali Khan. 

Excel Entertainment is known for Dil Chahta Hai, Don, Don 2, ZNMD, Inside Edge, KGF: Chapter 2 and others. Presently, the banner is gearing up for Farhan's Jee Le Zaraa.
