While there have been several speculations about Vijay Sethupathi starring in Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, it now looks like the actor will join the film set by the end of August, a source confirmed to Peeping Moon publication.

According to the report, the source revealed that Shah Rukh and the film’s director Atlee were keen on casting Vijay Sethupathi after Rana Daggubati backed out citing ill health. And when Shah Rukh approached Vijay Sethupathi for the antagonist role in Jawan, the latter couldn’t refuse the offer. It is also reported that the actor has rescheduled his other shooting commitments for Jawan and will join the next schedule in Chennai by the end of this month.

Jawan also stars Nayanthara, and the film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. Vijay Sethupathi, who was last in 19(1)(a), has played villain roles in films like the Vijay-starrer Master, Kamal Haasan-starrer Vikram and the Telugu film Uppena.
