Filmmaker Habib Faisal's series Dil Bekaraar will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on November 26.

A family drama, the show is based on Anuja Chauhan’s bestselling novel Those Pricey Thakur Girls. It stars Raj Babbar, Poonam Dhillon, Sahher Bambba, Akshay Oberoi, Padmini Kolhapure, Medha Shankar, and Sukhmani Sadana among others.

Set in '80s Delhi, the show tells the story of the Thakur family as they battle ideological conflicts in the times of telegrams, telephones, and Gold Spot. Their day-to-day troubles are set to the tunes of RD Burman, Nazia Hassan, and Hum Log. "A retired Supreme Court Judge's wife enforcing order in her family; a popular TV newsreader; a South Delhi Diva; a black-sheep daughter who drags her father to the court for her hissa in the property; and a confused twelfth grader. Dil Bekaraar's story revolves around strong female characters with very relatable goals and conflicts," the show's logline reads.

The series is produced by Sobo Films.

Faisal, known for directing films like Do Dooni Chaar and Ishaqzaade, said that Dil Bekaraar will transport the viewers to the 80s with meticulous detailing in its production design, costume design, make-up and sound and music. "Lot of research has gone into creating this nostalgic ride by using songs, TV shows, iconic TVCs and landmark news events of the times. The fashions, the furniture, the modes of communication and travel are of yesteryears, but the conflicts and emotions of the characters of Dil Bekaraar are still very relatable and universal for the 2020s audience," he added.
