Cinema halls inseparable to a film experience: Emraan Hashmi on Chehre's theatrical release
Rumy Jafry's film will open in cinemas on August 27
Emraan Hashmi was one of the two leads of Mumbai Saga, which was released theatrically in March this year. Now, Emraan's new film, Chehre, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan, is also headed for a theatrical release in the pandemic.
Explaining his choice of pushing for theatrical releases, Emraan says, “Cinema halls are the inseparable elements of a film experience and their revenue model directly depends on the makers. So, it is our responsibility to provide them a stand during this crisis, and hence I pushed my films to release in the theatres be it Mumbai Saga or Chehre."
Emraan says he wanted his first film with Amitabh Bachchan to come out in the right way. Their producer, Anand Pandit, assured them of a theatrical release 'with all safety measures in place'.
"We all fell in love with cinema because of the magic that it creates in the cinema halls," Emraan says. "And that is why, for films that deserve the big screen should settle for nothing less. I am eager to see people come back to the theatres with the thrilling surprise we have in store for them with Chehre.”
Chehre is directed by Rumy Jafry. The film is releasing in cinemas on August 27.
