Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny trailer: The adventurous globetrotting archaeologist is back!

The first official trailer for the much-awaited fifth instalment in the Indiana Jones franchise has finally arrived. The official title for the film has finally been confirmed: Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny. Harrison Ford plays the iconic whip-wielding, fedora-sporting archaeologist who goes on the wildest adventures around the globe. The trailer shows a de-aged Harrison Ford, according to the makers the de-aged portions will appear in the opening sequence of the film. The plot of the film is currently kept under tight wraps but speculations state that the story could involve time travel.

Harrison Ford had earlier confirmed that this film would be his final appearance as Indiana Jones and he also stated that he was against recasting the character. He said, “I'm Indiana Jones. When I'm gone, he's gone." Legendary music composer John Williams had also confirmed that he would retire from composing for films after this film. Apart from Harrison Ford in the lead and with John Rhys-Davies reprising his role from the first film, the cast of the film also includes Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Antonio Banderas, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Thomas Kretschmann, Toby Jones, Boyd Holbrook, Olivier Richters, Ethann Isidore, and Mads Mikkelsen.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is the first film in the franchise to not be directed by Steven Spielberg and not to be based on George Lucas. The film is directed by Logan fame James Mangold based on a script he co-wrote with Jez Butterworth and John Henry Butterworth. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is currently scheduled for a theatrical release on 30 June 2023.
