Mike White's third season of The White Lotus has begun casting for its new characters, with the shooting set to go on floors sometime in early February in Thailand.
Speaking earlier about The White Lotus, Mike said that it will release in 2025. "I’m seriously finishing scripts. It’s going to be a supersized White Lotus. It’s going to be longer, bigger, crazier. I don’t know what people will think, but I am super excited, so at least for my own barometer, that’s a good thing.”
While the first two seasons of The White Lotus were filmed at the Four Seasons resorts in Hawaii and Italy, respectively, there are possibilities of the upcoming season to also take place in a posh property, located in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui and the Golden Triangle of Thailand.
The White Lotus won 10 Emmy awards for its first season, including for outstanding limited or anthology series and supporting actress for Jennifer Coolidge, who reprised her role as Tanya McQuoid in the second season.
Earlier speaking, Mike had said that while the first season highlighted money, and second about sex, the third season would be a “satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality”.
