The upcoming third season of Emmy-winning series The White Lotus, will be set against the backdrop of Thailand.
While the first two seasons of The White Lotus were filmed at the Four Seasons resorts in Hawaii and Italy, respectively, there are possibilities of the upcoming season to also take place in a posh property, located in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui and the Golden Triangle.
Created, written and directed by Mike White, the filmmaker had earlier revealed that the third season will be set in Asia and focus on "death and Eastern religion and spirituality."
"The first season kind of highlighted money, and then the second season is sex. I think the third season would be maybe a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality. It feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round at White Lotus," White said in a clip at the end of the Season 2 finale.
With the production yet to begin, sources state that location scouting is on and the casting is yet to be announced.
The White Lotus won 10 Emmy awards for its first season, including for outstanding limited or anthology series and supporting actress for Jennifer Coolidge, who reprised her role as Tanya McQuoid in the second season.
