Here's the runtime of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3

James Gunn, the director of the Guardians of the Galaxy film series, revealed on Sunday that the upcoming 3rd film will have a runtime of 150 minutes. Replying to a fan on Twitter, James Gunn confirmed the film's duration.

The sequel is the last chapter in the James Gunn trilogy. It marks the director's final contribution to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Set years after the events of Avengers: EndgameGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 brings back our favourite Gamora (Zoe Saldana) along with the other guardians. The film follows Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) and his group of guardians as they fight against a new villain, Chukwudi Iwuji's High Evolutionary. This third film also introduces Will Poulter as Adam Warlock, a perfect bioengineered being that was previously mentioned in the end credits of the 2nd film in the franchise.

In the comic books, the High Evolutionary is a character obsessed with creating a world with perfect beings. He kidnaps, mutilates and splices creatures from all over the galaxy. The trailer of the film hints that the antagonist is related to Rocket Raccoon, as we see the baby version of the character, and how High Evolutionary changed him into the grumpy weapons specialist he is. The High Evolutionary may also be connected to Adam Warlock's origin story.

Vol. 3 will witness Maria Bakalova (the voice of Cosmo the Space Dog), Daniela Melchior and Nico Santos as new cast members. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 also stars Dave Bautista as Drax, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, and Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot. James Gunn is back to direct from a script he wrote himself. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 is slated for release on May 5.
