Jenna Ortega in talks to star in Beetlejuice 2

Wednesday fame Jenna Ortega is reportedly in talks to play a role in Beetlejuice 2. The film is expected to be directed by Tim Burton, who helmed the 1988 original starring Michael Keaton. Keaton is also likely to return to the sequel to reprise his role.

If Jenna Ortega signs the film, she is reported to play the daughter of Lydia. Winona Ryder essayed the role in the original.  Produced by Warner Bros., the film is said to begin production in late May or early June in London.

The original Beetlejuice also starred Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, Jeffrey Jordan, and Catherine O'Hara among others. The film grossed $80 million and scored a best Makeup Oscar at the 1989 Academy Awards. 

Meanwhile, Ortega's next outing Scream VI was released in theatres on Friday. Her films Finestkind, Miller's Girl, Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall, and an untitled Trey Edward Shults film
are in different stages of production.
