The Batman: Part 2 begins filming in November

The sequel to the much awaited The Batman, directed by Matt Reeves and starring Robert Pattinson, is arriving much earlier than expected. The makers have confirmed that the film will go on floors from November of this year.

The news arrives after James Gunn’s announcement of his new plans for the DC Universe, which states that Matt Reeves’ Batman films will stay outside of the mainstream DC films and will henceforth fall under the label of DC Elseworld.

While details regarding the story of the film are currently kept under tight wraps, the film is expected to feature Barry Koeghan’s Joker, who was introduced in a cameo role in the first film. Apart from Pattinson, cast members Zoë Kravitz, Jeffrey Wright, and Andy Serkis, are all set to reprise their roles for the sequel.

Colin Farrell, who played Italian Mafia boss Penguin, is getting his own television series, which will explore the organised crime network in Gotham.
