Actors Elle Fanning and Sarah Paulson are set to join hands for an upcoming film titled I Am Sybil. The film will be directed by Mirrah Foulkes, who debuted as a filmmaker with the 2019 film Judy and Punch. Mirrah Foulkes also co-wrote the film's script with Jen Silverman.
I am Sybil will recount the life of Shirley Mason, also known as Sybil, who was a patient of Cornelia B. Wilbur, a Freudian psychiatrist. Sybil was diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder, which was then referred to as multiple personality disorder. Mason's diagnosis has made many discussions associated with identity and mental health. According to reports, the film will also reflect on these controversial aspects, taking reference from Debbie Nathan’s 2011 book Sybil Exposed: The Extraordinary Story Behind the Famous Multiple Personality Case.
Speculations are rife that Fanning roped in as Mason, while Paulson as Wilbur.
Meanwhile, Elle Fanning has recently joined the cast of the Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown, to star opposite Timothee Chalamet. The actor has a slew of acting credits in her name. Including Mary Shelley, The Beguiled, 20th Century Women, The Neon Demon, Trumbo, Twixt, Super 8, Somewhere, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Babel, Teen Spirit, and We Bought a Zoo, among others.
Sarah Paulson will next be seen starring in Dust, a horror thriller directed by Will Joines and Karrie Crouse. The actor's popular acting credits include 12 Years a Slave, Carol, The Post, and Bird Box, among others.
