The Rookie actor Annie Wersching passes away 

The 45-year-old actress continued to star in Star Trek: Picard as the Borg queen in Season 2, even after her diagnosis in 2020

Actor Annie Wersching known for her performances in television shows 24 and Bosch, passed away in the wee hours of Sunday morning, after a long-standing battle with Cancer. The 45-year-old actress continued to star in various projects including, Star Trek: Picard as the Borg queen in Season 2, even after her diagnosis in 2020. 

The news of her death came from her husband, Stephen Full. In recent times, she starred in The Rookie and also lent her voice to Tess in the Last of Us video game which was adapted into a TV series by HBO. 

Wersching's first prominent role as a lead was as Amelia Joffe in the series General Hospital. She is known for her performance as Renee Walker in the 7th and 8th seasons of 24. Her other works include The Vampire Diaries, Runaways, Extant, Timeless and Bosch. Her stint in Star Trek: Picard was one of her final roles, which came exactly two decades after she made her acting debut in an episode of Star Trek: Enterprise. Survivors include her husband and her two children.
