Elvis to return to theatres for special limited engagement

On Tuesday, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science announced the nominations for the 95th Academy Awards. Baz Luhrmann's Elvis, the biopic on Elvis Presley, received eight nominations including Best Picture and Best Actor in a Leading Role for Austin Butler, who played Elvis. 

As a mark of celebrating the nominations, and catering to the fans of the film, Elvis will return to the big screens for a limited engagement in select locations across the USA on January 27. Despite the film currently streaming on HBO Max, those who would love another experience of watching the film in the theatres, get another chance. 

Directed from a screenplay written by Baz and Sam Bromell, Elvis centres around the 30 years of the life of the Rock n Roll musician Elvis Presley. It sifts through his life experiences- from love and loss to his unprecedented rise to fame. it also deals with the complex dynamic relationship he had with his manager Tom Parker and is set against the backdrop of the timeless music he gave the world. The film got nominated at the Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Actor in a Lead Role, Cinematography, Film Editing, Costume Design, Production Design, Makeup and Hairstyling and Sound.

With Butler in the lead role, the film had a star-studded cast including Tom Hanks, who plays Presley’s manager Colonel Tom Parker. Other cast members include Chaydon Jay as preteen Elvis Presley, Olivia DeJonge, Dacre Montgomery, Helen Thomson, Richard Roxburgh, and Alton Mason.
