Netflix unveils slate of new movies coming in 2023

Your Place or Mine, Murder Mystery 2, Extraction 2, and Heart of Stone are some of the films that will be coming on Netflix in 2023

On Wednesday, Netflix revealed some of the big slate of new movies that will be streaming on Netflix throughout the year. From January to December, Netflix has scheduled a line of Hollywood films, some with big stars, and others that are sequels. 

Starring Eddie Murphy, Lauren London, and Jonah Hill, You People directed by Kenya Barris will be out on January 27. The story follows a new couple and their families who reckon with modern love amid cultural clashes, societal expectations, and generational differences.

Reese Witherspoon and Aston Kutcher’s romantic comedy Your Place Or Mine will release on February 10. Directed by Aline Brosh McKenna, the film is based on two best friends who swap houses in Los Angeles and New York. 

Luther: The Fallen Sun and Murder Mystery 2 will be out in March. The former is a crime drama starring Idris Elba and Cynthia Erivo and will be out on March 10. The latter is the sequel to Murder Mystery, and Adam Sandler and Jennifer Anniston will be reprising their roles in this film which will be out on March 31. 

In May Jennifer Lopez-starrer The Mother is releasing. The story is about an assassin who comes out of hiding, while fleeing from assailants, to protect her daughter she left earlier in life. 

Chris Hemsworth’s Extraction 2, the sequel to the 2020 film Extraction will be streaming on Netflix from June 16. While the first film ended with the death of Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth), the sequel establishes that his death was presumed. Tyler Rake returns for another high-stakes mission in this film. 


John Boyega, Jamie Foxx, and Teyonah Parris’ They Cloned Tyler will release on July 21. The film revolves around a series of eerie events that thrusts an unlikely trio onto the trail of a nefarious government conspiracy.


Alia Bhatt-GalGadot starrer Heart of Stone and Kevin Hart’s Lift will be out in August. Releasing on August 11, Heart of Stone is an espionage action thriller. Lift revolves around an international heist crew that is recruited to prevent a terrorist attack and must pull off the heist on a plane mid-flight.

Damsel and Pain Hustlers will be out in October. Damsel is Millie Bobby Brown’s fantasy film, while Pain Hustlers is Emily Blunt's and Chris Evans’ conspiracy drama film. The films will release on October 13 and 27 respectively.


Three films, The Killer, A Family Affair, and Leo will be out in November(10,17, and 22 respectively). While The Killer stars Michael Fassbender, A Family Affair stars Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron. Leo is an animated movie featuring the voices of Adam Sandler and Bill Burr.

December will see the release of Leave The World Behind and Rebel Moon. The former is a psychological thriller starring Myha'la Herrold, Julia Roberts, and Ethan Hawke and will be out on December 8. Rebel Moon, which will be released on December 22, stars Sofia Boutella and Charlie Hunman among others.
