Christopher Landon hopes to make third instalment of Happy Death Day

Earlier, filmmaker Christopher Landon, who directed the Happy Death Day franchise, revealed that the chances for the third instalment are less. However, recently, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the director said he is still not giving up on the idea of making a third film. He also said that he knows how to make a fun conclusion to the franchise.

It may be noted that the first film released in 2017 was received well by the audiences. Later the sequel, Happy Death Day 2U released in 2019, did not do great at the box office and received underwhelming responses.

In the interview, he said, "I have that movie in my head, and I know exactly what I want. It’s actually a bigger movie than the previous two films, and that’s part of the issue, ultimately." He further added that the third instalment needs a big budget and considering the underwhelming performance of the second film, it will be a tall order. "But I’m still holding out hope that Universal will give me a chance because it would be a really fun conclusion," he said.
