Gillian Anderson to star in Netflix's Scoop

Gillian Anderson to star in Netflix's upcoming film Scoop. The film is based on Sam Mcalister's memoir, Scoops: Behind The Scenes of the BBC’s Most Shocking Interviews.

The Scoop will be about the inside account of BBC Newsnight's bombshell 2019 interview with Prince Andrew about his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Gillian Anderson will be playing the role of Emily Maitlis, the former lead presenter of Newsnight, who conducted the interview. 

Apart from Gillian Anderson, the cast includes Rufus Sewell as Prince Andrew, Keeley Hawes as Amanda Thirsk who is the former private secretary to Prince Andrew and Billie Piper as Sam McAlister.

Philip Martin will be directing the film. Scoop is produced by Hilary Salmon and Radford Neville for The Lighthouse Film & Television, with Sanjay Singhal for Voltage TV.

In 2023, Gillian will also be starring in White Bird: A Wonder Story, a war drama film directed by Marc Forster along with Helen Mirren.
