The upcoming documentary, The Lost Weekend: A Love Story, is set to feature May Pang discussing her romantic relationship with singer John Lennon when she was his assistant at 23 years of age. Briarcliff Entertainment has acquired the upcoming documentary feature.
Eve Brandstein, Richard Kaufman, and Stuart Samuels helmed The Lost Weekend: A Love Story, which recently premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. The love affair between Pang and Lennon had a prolific impact on Lennon after his separation from the Beatles.
The documentary feature will be premiered by Briarcliff on Blu-ray and digital on October 13. The release will happen on the occasion of John Lennon's birthday.
During her affair with John Lennon, Pang played a key role in orchestrating various happenings in the former's post-Beatles life. She helped John and his son Julian reunite, and also ensured the release of albums like Mind Games, Walls and Bridges, along with collaborations with Elton John and David Bowie. The after was 18 months long and was engineered by Yoko Ono herself.
