On Thursday, Disney unveiled the trailer of Wish, their upcoming animated feature starring an ensemble voice cast. The film will revolve around the origins of the wishing star.
The trailer of Wish shows that the film will follow the story of a young girl named Asha, who, on realising the darkness in her kingdom, makes a wish to the wishing star, in a moment of desperation. Her wish is so powerful that the Universe answers with a little star of boundless energy called, Star. Together, Asha and Star work to defeat the ruler of Rosas, King Magnifico, to save her community. The trailer has elements such as chaos, cosmic action and exciting adventure.
The lead voice cast of Wish includes Chris Pine as King Magnifico, and Ariana DeBose as Asha. Alan Tudyk voices the character of Asha’s favourite goat, Valentino. Chris Buck and Fawn Veerasunthorn are the directors of Wish. They have previously directed films like Frozen and Zootopia, respectively. The film is set to release on November 22, 2023.
