Samuel L Jackson and John David Washington to star in The Piano Lesson

Actors Samuel L Jackson and John David Washington will star in The Piano Lesson, the upcoming Netflix film. It is directed by Malcolm Washington and written by Virgil Williams and Malcolm Washington. 

The upcoming film is based on the play, The Piano Lesson by August Wilson. It is produced by Academy Award Winner Denzel Washington, and Academy Award Nominee Todd Black. According to the makers, the logline reads, "Set in 1936 Pittsburgh during the aftermath of the Great Depression, The Piano Lesson follows the lives of the Charles family in the Doaker Charles household and an heirloom, the family piano, which documents the family history through carvings made by their enslaved ancestor." 

The film also stars Ray Fisher, Danielle Deadwyler, Michael Potts, and Corey Hawkins.
