Glen Powell in talks to star in Twisters

Glen Powell who starred in Top Gun: Maverick is in talks to star in Daisy Edgar-Jones’ Twisters, a sequel to the 1996 film Twister.

With the script penned by Mark L Smith, the film is helmed by Lee Isaac Chung. The film is set to hit the theatres on July 19, 2024. The film stars Helen Hunt, Bill Paxton, Carey Elwes and Philip Seymour Hoffman, among others.

The 1996 film has earned about $500 million at the box office and received multiple Oscar nominations in the visual effects and sound categories. Helmed by Jan De Bont, with screenplay by Michael Crichton, Steven Spielberg executive produced the film. Twister revolved around storm-chasers as they ran after the most powerful tornados. However, the plot of the new film is kept under wraps.

Twisters is backed by Warner Bros Pictures along with Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley.
