According to reports, director Bassam Tariq has reportedly exited Marvel’s upcoming Blade reboot. The film starring Academy Award-winning actor Mahershala Ali has now been put on hold. Reports suggest that the filmmaker was disappointed with the creative decisions that were thrust upon him during the production.

Marvel boss Kevin Feige, who oversees all the cinematic as well as television adaptations of Marvel, has declined to comment on the Blade controversy. Actor Mahershala Ali is also reported to have been disappointed with the production. Reports further state that the script for the feature film was only 90 pages long and featured awkwardly placed action scenes in the middle of the story.

Blade follows the story of a vampire hunter who himself is part human and part vampire. The Blade series is an adaptation of the comic book series of the same name. The 1998 film starring Wesley Snipes in the titular role kicked off a franchise with the third film in 2002. The current Blade reboot is supposed to be a part of the ongoing Marvel Cinematic Universe
