Emmy Awards 2022: HBO/HBO Max platform dethrones Netflix with 38 wins

HBO/HBO Max won 19 awards in 2021

At the Emmys 2022 award ceremony held on Monday, HBO/HBO Max platform topped by bagging 38 wins in total, as opposed to their 19 wins in 2021.

HBO, along with its streaming platform HBO Max, garnered 10 wins in the limited series category. Among the wins include, The White Lotus, for which Mike White won for best writing and directing. In addition, the comedy drama series also fetched its actors Jennifer Coolidge and Murray Barlett Best Supporting Actress and Actor in a limited series. The White Lotus also took home award for best limited series, while HBO's another show Succession won best drama series.

The Zendaya-starrer Euphoria's second season bagged six awards, including best actress in drama series for Zendaya. In addition, HBO Max's Hacks second season took home three Emmys.

It is to be noted that after HBO/HBO Max, streaming platform Netflix came second with respect to the number of wins. Netflix fetched 26 awards in total, with its star player being Korean series Squid Game with six awards.
