Producer Jon Landau confirmed today that Avatar: The Way of Water is officially ready for release, after years of intense shooting and post-production. James Cameron and his team completed the final mix and picture mastering last night.
This led to director Guillermo del Toro, who seems to have seen the film, calling Cameron’s sequel “a staggering achievement- AVATAR TWOW is chokefull of majestic Vistas and emotions at an epic, epic scale. A master at the peak of his powers…”
The Avatar sequel is set more than a decade after the story of the first film ends and follows Jake and Neyitiri as they build their family while also battling their past which seems to be catching up with them.
Directed by James Cameron, the sequel stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, and Kate Winslet.
Cameron stated that provided the film succeeds at the box office, he will be proceeding with the fourth and fifth parts of the film.
Avatar: The Way Of Water in 6 languages - English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada - in India on December 16th.
Guillermo last made Cabinet of Curiosities for Netflix and the animated film Pinocchio.
