Power Rangers actor and mixed martial artist Jason David Frank dies at 49

He was best known for his role as Tommy Oliver

Mixed martial artist and actor Jason David Frank, who was best known for his role as Tommy Oliver from Power Rangers, died at 49.

In a statement accessed by TMZ, confirming the actor's demise, his representative said, "Unfortunately, it is true. Please respect the privacy of his family and friends during this horrible time as we come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being. He loved his family, friends and fans very much. He will truly be missed."

Jason was cast as Tommy Oliver (green Ranger) in the Power Rangers series Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers from 1993 to 1996. The actor reprised his role in both film and television version of the franchise. He was also the voice actor of his character in the video game version as well, in addition to making a guest appearance in 2017 Power Rangers reboot. Subsequently, Jason also appeared in several Power Rangers seasons, including Power Rangers Zeo, Turbo (Red), and Dino Thunder (Black), along with appearances in anniversary specials.
