Netflix releases official poster for The Pale Blue Eye

The film, set in 1803, revolves around the murder of a military cadet, investigation into the murder unravels a larger mystery that threatens the entirety of The West Point Academy

Netflix has released an official poster for its upcoming investigative thriller film The Pale Blue Eye. The film, set in 1803, revolves around the murder of a military cadet, investigation into the murder unravels a larger mystery that threatens the entirety of The West Point Academy. 

Christian Bale plays Augustus Landor, the detective who is working on the case while he is aided by a younger, fictionalised version of Edgar Allan Poe. Harry Melling, known for playing Dudley Dursley in the Harry Potter films, will essay the role of the acclaimed writer/poet.

Scott Cooper, who previously directed Christian Bale in Out of the Furnace, directed the film while also producing it along with Bale. The film is an adaptation of the 2006 book of the same name by Louis Bayard.

After buying the rights to the film, Netflix announced the beginning of production in March 2021, and a trailer for the film was released three weeks ago. The film is set to have its streaming premiere on Netflix on 6 January 2023 with a worldwide theatrical release on 23 December 2022
