Netflix renews The Watcher for second season

Netflix has renewed The Watcher series for a second season, the announcement was made `by the streaming platform on Tuesday.

The Watcher is American mystery thriller created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan. It released on October 13 and is based on a true story of a married couple who move into a house. As they get harassed through letters sent by a mysterious stalker, who goes by the titular name, paranoia creeps in for the family as they try to figure out to escape.

The first season consists of seven episodes and features Bobby Cannavale, Naomi Watts as the leads. Others part of the cast include Jennifer Coolidge, Mia Farrow, Margo Martindale, Terry Kinney, Joe Mantello, Richard Kind, Noma Dumezweni, Christopher McDonald, Michael Nouri, Isabel Gravitt, Henry Hunter Hall, and Luke David Blumm.

It is to be noted that  DAHMER - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, the American crime drama anthology, which is also created by Ryan and Ian, and follows the life of a serial killer, has also been renewed by Netflix as an anthology series.

The back-to-back force of these two series is due to Ryan’s distinct original voice which created cultural sensations and we are thrilled to continue telling stories in the Monster and Watcher universe," said Netflix Head of Global TV Bela Bajaria, in a statement accessed by The Collider.
