Brett Goldstein joins cast of Chris Pratt-led animated Garfield film

Brett Goldstein, along with Bowen Yang from Saturday Night Live, has reportedly joined the cast of the upcoming animated Garfield film. Brett Goldstein is best known for appearing in the critically acclaimed sports comedy series Ted Lasso. The makers are currently keeping the details about Goldstein and Yang's role in the film under tight wraps.

 It was earlier reported that Guardians of the Galaxy fame Chris Pratt would voice the role of Garfield in the film. The cast of the film also includes Samuel L Jackson, Nicholas Hoult, Hannah Waddingham, Cecily Strong, and Ving Rhames in supporting roles.

Mark Dindal, known for directing animated films like Chicken Little and The Emperor's New Groove, is helming the project. The film is based on the beloved comic strip character Garfield and will also feature his owner Jon Arbuckle. Created by cartoonist Jim Davis, the character was first introduced in 1978. Paul Kaplan and Mark Torgove along with David Reynolds have adapated the screenplay for the film
