Hollywood legend Michael Keaton will star in and direct an upcoming noir thriller film titled Knox Goes Away.

Written by Gregory Poirier, the film follows a contract killer who, after being diagnosed with a fast-moving form of dementia, is presented with the opportunity to redeem himself by saving the life of his estranged adult son. But to do so he must race against the police closing in on him as well as the ticking clock of his own rapidly deteriorating mind.

Knox Goes Away is produced by Trevor Matthews and Nick Gordon of Brookstreet, and Michael Sugar and Ashley Zalta of Sugar23. Carter Stanton will executive produce for Brookstreet and Jillian Kay for Sugar23.

FilmNation Entertainment is handling international sales of the project at the upcoming Cannes market. The film will begin shooting in late August in Los Angeles.

Keaton was recently seen in the limited series Dopesick. He will reprise his role as Batman in Warner Bros’ upcoming The Flash movie.
