Shawn Levy to direct Deadpool 3, Ryan Reynolds confirms third collaboration with the director

Marvel's Deadpool 3 has found its director. The franchise's star Ryan Reynolds took to Twitter earlier today to announce that filmmaker Shawn Levy will direct the upcoming third instalment, which has been in development for some time now.

The project marks the third collaboration between Levy and Reynolds after their two critically-acclaimed recent releases, Free Guy and The Adam Project. Free Guy grossed more than $300 million at the global box office and has a sequel in development. The Adam Project premieres on Netflix this weekend.

Deadpool 3 will have a script written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick from a previous draft by Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin. No other information is currently available.
