Tom Hanks to play Geppetto in Pinocchio; first look out

On the occasion of Disney's annual shareholder meeting, the makers at Mouse House have released the first look at Tom Hanks as Geppetto in its upcoming live-action adaptation of Pinocchio.

Here's the first look...

The first look features a grey-haired Geppetto looking at the wooden puppet Pinocchio. Based on the famous children's novel by Carlo Collodi, Pinocchio is the story of a puppet who comes to life and wants to lead the life of a young, adventurous boy. 

The film is directed by veteran filmmaker Robert Zemeckis known for films like Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Forrest Gump and Cast Away. Apart from Hanks, Pinocchio also stars Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Pinocchio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Jiminy Cricket and Cynthia Erivo as the Blue Fairy.

While the release date of the film is yet to be announced, it's confirmed that Pinocchio will be out on Disney+ Hotstar.
